GET OUT (2017)
Upon its release in 2017, ‘Get Out’ was a runaway success, particularly for British star Daniel Kaluuya.
This statue depicts one of its most recognisable scenes, the ‘Sunken Place’ in which Kaluuya’s character, Chris, is hypnotised to feel as if he is falling into an abyss. Kaluuya has since gone on to earn two Oscar nominations and an Oscar win in 2021, as well as expanding his producing, writing and directing credits with his feature-length directorial debut, ‘The Kitchen’, released in 2023.
Statue Production
This statue was commissioned in response to a survey about up and coming British talent, in which Daniel Kaluuya ranked very highly. Kaluuya took the time to have a 3D scan completed of his head, in order to capture his dramatic facial expression while the dynamic pose was constructed based on images and clips from the scene in the film.
