The Tusk Turtle Trail Coming Soon to the West End

Something turtle-y spectacular is coming to the capital...

Posted: 20.06.25

Launching in July 2025, The Tusk Turtle Trail will turn London’s West End into a vibrant open-air gallery.

Giant turtle sculptures, each transformed by leading artists and famous faces, will pop up across the city to celebrate these ancient ocean creatures — and raise vital funds to protect them.

Expect stunning, one-of-a-kind designs from big names like Ronnie Wood, Deborah Meaden and Steven Bartlett, Rankin, Harland Miller, and Ralph Steadman. Each artist brings their own style and story to highlight the beauty of marine turtles and the threats they face in today’s world.

Curated by Chris Westbrook of Westbrook Gallery, and supported by Art of London, Shaftesbury Capital, The View from the Shard, and lead sponsor DHL, the trail is a powerful mix of creativity and conversation.

But this is more than art.

Turtles have cruised our oceans for over 100 million years — yet six of the seven species are now at risk of extinction. From plastic pollution and illegal poaching to rising sea levels and shrinking beaches, human impact has pushed these ancient mariners to the brink. Turtles play a vital role in ocean health — maintaining coral reefs, controlling jellyfish populations, and even helping coastal vegetation thrive. Saving turtles means protecting the seas we all rely on.

The trail is set to run throughout July and August, with a grand charity auction of the sculptures taking place in October. All proceeds will go directly to Tusk Marine Conservation partners across Africa, who are working on the frontlines to protect nesting beaches, rescue injured turtles, and engage local communities in safeguarding their coastal environments.

So whether you're into street art, wildlife, or a new way to explore London’s West End this summer — the Tusk Turtle Trail is a must-see.
