Tom Holland to star in Romeo and Juliet in London’s West End

Most famously known as friendly neighbourhood superhero Spiderman, award-winning actor Tom Holland is ditching his Spidey suit to step into the shoes of the romantic, Romeo, in the latest adaptation of Shakespeare's timeless classic, Romeo and Juliet, hitting the West End stage.

Directed by acclaimed theatre director Jamie Lloyd, this incredible remake of Shakespeare's timeless tale will play to audiences at The Duke of York’s Theatre during its three-month run. The actor portraying Juliet is yet to be announced.

The Duke of York’s Theatre opened in 1892, then named the Trafalgar Square Theatre, and was renamed to its current name in 1895 to honour the future King George V.

Over the years, the theatre has housed illustrious productions such as King Lear and played host to many famous names including Sir Ian McKellen, Orlando Bloom, Michael Gambon and Jeremy Irons.
