Vivie Warren doesn’t do small talk. She drinks whisky, devours detective novels and is laser-focused on smashing the glass ceiling with a career in law.
But when her long-absent mother reappears, dripping in secrets and expensive taste, - Vivie’s world gets turned upside down.
Meet Mrs. Warren: sharp, successful and not remotely sorry for how she made her money. She’s played the game in a man’s world and... won. But what happens when the daughter she built her fortune for, wants nothing to do with it?
Imelda Staunton (The Crown) and real-life daughter Bessie Carter (Bridgerton) share the stage for the very first time in George Bernard Shaw’s razor-sharp moral drama, brought stunningly up to date by acclaimed director Dominic Cooke (Good, Hello, Dolly!).
Catch this firecracker of a revival at the Garrick Theatre. Bold, brilliant, and very nearly banned when it first opened in 1902, this ground-breaking play still hits hard over a century later.
Filming will take place at select July performances for NT Live. Cameras will be in the auditorium and just to note yes, you might be in the shot. (Arrive on time. Look fabulous!)

Duel Purpose
The tube journey on the Piccadilly line between Leicester Square and Covent Garden is London’s shortest, travelling only 260 metres. It lasts only 45 seconds and at £29.81 per mile, is one of the worlds’ most expensive rail journeys – enough of an incentive to take the scenic route and walk.
