Voted in by 5,000 British film fans as the star they most wanted to see, this statue is a celebration of homegrown talent and a landmark moment for the trail.
Get Out shattered records with over $250 million in box office earnings, earning four Academy Award® nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Kaluuya. The film's breakout success, paired with its modest budget, made history as the highest-grossing debut based on an original screenplay.
Now, Kaluuya stands among cinematic icons like Harry Potter, Wonder Woman, and Batman. His journey from Skins and Black Mirror to global stardom is nothing short of inspiring. The statue captures the haunting scene where Chris, Kaluuya’s character, is hypnotised and falls into the eerie ‘Sunken Place’—a moment that gripped audiences everywhere.
Kaluuya’s rise continued with stellar roles in Black Panther and Judas and the Black Messiah, but it was Get Out that made him a household name and cemented his place in Hollywood.
